Variante GR 11.2 - Etapa 1: Variante Tres Refugios. Viadós - Ángel Orús
Refugio de Viadós - Desvío a Millares - Collado de La Forqueta - Ibón de Llardaneta - Desvío a Estós - Refugio Ángel Orús
The GR 11.2 variant in the direction of the Refugio Angel Orús starts along the same path as the GR 11 for a few metres. It thus starts from the Refugio de Viadós to the east, crossing the set of huts. The route leaves the GR 11 at the last of the huts, taking the GR 11.2 which, on the right, descends to cross the river Cinqueta de Añes Cruces river over a wooden bridge. The trail continues through La Ribereta ravine along the farm track on the right, between meadows and pine and fir forests. It starts a steep climb after crossing the Canal de las Tuertas, zigzagging to the edge of the forest. After passing the split-off to the Ibones de Millás and Lenés (Millars and Leners in Aragonese) and between steep moraine, the trail tops the Collado de Eriste, also known as the Collado La Forqueta (2,864 m); the pass divides the Chistau and Benasque valleys and is the highest point of the entire GR 11 route. At this point it begins the descent through another steep stony channel and reaches the flatland around the Ibón de Llardaneta. After passing the ascent to the Posets on the left and, somewhat later, the path to the Refugio de Estós, the GR 11.2 arrives at the Refugio Angel Orús, also known as El Forcau.
